New York City March 2013 - My First Visit

I took my first trip to New York city at four years of age!  I loved it!  We stay a block from Times Square and a few blocks from Central Park.   This was my first taxi ride and boy was it fast!  After we settled in at the hotel we headed to Times Square!  I was really wowed by the tall buildings, yellow taxis and people.  We went to Toy's R Us, M&M, and then over to FAO Schwarz.  I was in pure heaven.  Not only did they have the best toy's that I had ever seen but oh my the candy store stole my heart!  I guess I am like my Daddy!  I love my sweets!  After spending some time n FAO Schwarz we headed over to Central Park.   Central Park is beautiful!  I can't believe this park is nestled right in that big city.   All the horse and carriages just took my breath!  We rode the Merry Go Round and walked all around the park.  The smell of those roasted peanuts were so nice mixed in with the cold chilly air.  We were bundled up and the sun was nice and bright.  That night we had the best pizza in the world.

The next day we headed to the Zoo in Central Park.  How cool is a zoo with the big buildings surrounding it.  We then headed to lunch (yes more pizza) and then to see "The Lion King".  This was the best broadway show! We rode the red double-decker bus all over NYC.  We went to the Ground Zero Memorial.  My Mama told me it was a Memorial Park but I just didn't really understand.
There wasn't a swing or really anything kid friendly.  I told my Mama that I didn't really understand and no one was telling me!  My Mama said she was explain when I was older.   I also got a chance to see Battery Park and The Statue of Liberty.  We wanted to walk across the Brooklyn
Bridge and get some more pizza.  We just ran out of time!  There is so much to do!

We hope to come back at Christmas to see all of the lights.  I just love NYC!

Christmas 2012 - 4 Years Old

This Christmas was very busy!   I had a visit from my Grandmother and Paw Paw Pat.  They flew all the way from Texas!  I went to see the play Cinderella at the "Little Raleigh Theater with my best friend Mary Eliza and then Disney On Ice!   I also went to see the live Nativity at Hayes Barton Baptist Church.  Afterwards we ate Chinese food and watched my Daddy's favorite Christmas movie "The Christmas Story".  I took a picture with the leg lamp!  Crazy!

We did a lot of fun things during the visit with my Grandmother and Paw Paw Pat.  We made a beautiful gingerbread house made out of yummy candy!  We also took them to "The Pit" to taste some North Carolina Barbecue.  We had a great visit. I wish they didn't live so far away!   Me and my best friend Mary Eliza went to see Cinderella.  The stepsisters were really funny looking but Cinderella was just beautiful.  We got to visit with them after the show but I wasn't crazy about taking pictures with them.  My friend Mary did!  Maybe next year!  I went to Pullen Park and rode on the "Santa Train"!  It was at nighttime and every thing was lit up!  I still wasn't interested in sitting in Santa's lap!  I do like to look at him from a distance.

Santa also paid me a visit on Christmas Eve! I guess I must have been really good because he left me a lot of toys! I got to play with them for a while and then it was off to my cousins' house for Christmas dinner and the best thing of all, opening more presents!

Thanksgiving 2012 - Eden is Four Years Old

This Thanksgiving Eden was four years old!  We celebrated with our family as we also do.  We prepared a fried turkey and a roasted turkey.  I have to admit the fried turkey is really good!  It is very juicy and moist as one might expect.  We had all the usual southern foods, dressing, collards, sweet potatoe casserole, green bean casserole, cream potatoes and gravy.  We had pecan and chocolate chess pie.  We all seat around and ate most of the day!

This year Eden had a "feast" at The Raleigh School.  The children send home invitatons that they made.  We all brought a dish to share in the classroom.  Eden and all of her classmates took turns sharing their artwork about "What I Am Thankful For".  Eden was thankful for her kitty's.  It was so sweet to hear the children say what they were thankful for.  We are thankful this Thanksgiving that we have a sweet beautiful little girl who is fortunate to attend one of the best schools in Raleigh.  Her teachers are wonderful and are teaching her well.  We are proud!  We are also thankful for family! There is nothing more important!

Halloween 2012 "The Pirate Family"

This year we were all pirates for Halloween!  My parents love Halloween as much as I do!  We got our pumpkins carved up and our house all decorated.  We even made a scarecrow this year!  We had a ton of trick or treater's!  Our neighbor Mrs. Turner passed out candy at our house while we went out to fill up our bag with candy.  To tell you the truth I couldn't wait to get home to sort all of my candy!  My parents showed me how to do this.  They both sorted their candy when they were little! I hope everyone had a great Halloween like I did!

P.S.  We even went and saw a "Dog Halloween Costume Parade" this year!  That was silly!

My First Symphony At Four! A Halloween One!

This year I attended my first symphony! The North Carolina Symphony played a children's Halloween show. I really liked it alot. I got to wear my Halloween costume and there were a lot of fun preshow events! The symphony played a lot of star wars song and I got to see Dark Vader!! He even conducted one of the songs. I think the best part of the show was getting to parade across the stage and getting my face painted after the show!  I love to get my face painted!

The NC State Fair 2012

We can't believe it is fair time again! Going to the NC State Fair is one of our favorite things to do! Since the fair occurs every October it reminds us that Summer is over and Fall is beginning! So far the trend is not going just once but twice! This year Eden wanted to spent most of her time playing games to win prizes. Since she was pretty good at it, we once again came home with sveral goldfish! She named them Krispy, Creme, and Donut! We met Eden's best friend Mary Eliza and her family at the fair. Eden enjoyed riding rides with her friend. As usual we ate our way through the fair! Thank goodness it only occurs once a year!
