The NC State Fair 2012

We can't believe it is fair time again! Going to the NC State Fair is one of our favorite things to do! Since the fair occurs every October it reminds us that Summer is over and Fall is beginning! So far the trend is not going just once but twice! This year Eden wanted to spent most of her time playing games to win prizes. Since she was pretty good at it, we once again came home with sveral goldfish! She named them Krispy, Creme, and Donut! We met Eden's best friend Mary Eliza and her family at the fair. Eden enjoyed riding rides with her friend. As usual we ate our way through the fair! Thank goodness it only occurs once a year!

Disney Trip 2012

Daddy went to Orlando on a business trip early October. Mama and I joined him for a long weekend! We spent a couple of days in the Magic Kingdom and a day at Epcot. The best part of the trip was "Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party"! I got to trick-or-treat at Disney World this year! I have to say it was pretty cool! The candy was great and Magic Kingdom was all lit up in Halloween colors! The Halloween parade was very festive and a lot of fun! Wow! I must say I am one lucky little trick or treater this year!

Farm Tour Day - Ray Farms

We spend a nice fall day on a September Saturday visiting the Ray Family Farm.  It was Farm Day and many farms through out the area welcomed visitors!  We choose to drive to Ray Family Farms.  It is in Louisburg North Carolina the town that my Grandmama grew up in!   My Grandmama grew up on a big farm and boy wouldn't she get a kick and out of us enjoying the farm life.   We saw pigs, chickens, cows and horses.  The family was so nice! They gave us homemade ice cream and we bought sausage, steaks, and fresh eggs!  I am a city girl but is so fun visiting farms in the country!

We plan on going back often to purchase fresh country local foods!

Goodbye Jordon Center & Hello To The Raleigh School

This fall Eden transitioned from The Jordan Center, which was located across the street from our neighborhood, to The Raleigh School a few miles away.  It was a bittersweet transition as Eden said goodbye to her longtime friends and teachers!  We remember the first day we took Eden to the Jordan Center.  She was only 10 weeks old and Ms. Johnnie reassured us that she was in great hands!  We leave the Jordan center with  four years of wonderful memories and lots of friendships! We will never forget your classrooms there, the Pandas, Box Turtles, Honeybees and Toucans.  We will not forget Ms. Lolita and Mr. Bobby D calling you "little girl".  Eden you were so loved at the Jordan Center by your teachers and staff.  Your outgoing playful personality makes people fall in love with you!  When we told Mr. Bobby D that you were leaving, he said no, not my "little girl".  We will visit often!

We were somewhat anxious as to how Eden would adapt to The Raleigh School.  She loved it!  It is a small sweet school located on a beautiful campus filled with trees! She had several play dates with her new classmates-to-be before school actually started and was able to meet her teachers at one of the play dates!  Eden seems so grown up now!  She hops out of the car at Carpool with her Raleigh School book bag and heads to her class!

At The Raleigh School the parents are very involved and we get to be the Helping Parent in her classroom about once a month. Eden gets to be the Helping Child on those days and she gets super excited! Eden and her friends also attend Spanish class and have Music twice a week! Our sweet little girl is growing up so fast!

A Very Fairy Garden Tea Party - 4 Years Old

Last year, we had my wonderful 3 year old birthday party down on the dairy farm!  This year we celebrated by having A Fairy Garden Tea Party!  It truly was a proper tea party complete with real china, tea pots, and a tea cup chandelier.  My Mama's good friends Ms. Virginia and Mr. Parker helped my Mama put together a magical party.  They took an old chandelier and made a new teacup chandelier.  Mr. Parker built the tea table out of logs from the woods and made it the perfect size for me and eight of my girlfriends!  They also made a magical tree with butterflies, a special bird's nest and a yellow crescent moon just like my invitation.  Ms. Virginia even sewed beautiful aprons for me and all of my friends.  My Mama decorated a canopy with colorful tulle, butterflies and beautiful flowers.

We also had a special visit from a beautiful fairy.  She read us the story "Tea With The Queen" and painted all of our faces.  My birthday was so special this year!  I guess you can say it was "Fit For A Queen" I mean a princess!
