We spent a week in July at our condo in Emerald Isle this year. We had a very relaxing week at the beach basically doing nothing but playing! It was nice and sunny all week! We spent most of the time playing with Eden on the beach. Don and Eden spent a few hours making a sandcastle one day. Eden loves playing on the beach. She loves to dig in the sand and always asks Don to find her sandfleas and put them in a bucket of water so that she can play with them. She has her very own Barbie fishing pole and likes to fish with her Daddy on the beach! We took lots of pictures of her on the beach. We did take a day trip over to Beaufort and went on a boat ride around the intracoastal waterway. The Captain even let the children take turns driving the boat. Eden thought that was really cool. Her daddy was jealous because he wanted to drive the boat, too. We ate lots of seafood. Eden loves shrimp!

July 4th 2011 At Beaufort, NC
We spent the 4th of July in beautiful Beaufort, NC. This historic town is located very close to our condo in Emerald Isle, NC. We often spend a few hours in Beaufort when we go to the beach. This time we spend 3 nights in the Beaufort Inn so that we could visit with our good friends, Blaine, Paula, Scott, Megan and little Gavin from Ohio. We have gotten to know them because Blaine and Paula usually rent the condo beside ours for a month in May and October. This year they were only able to stay a week at Atlantic Beach. We always watch the Kentucky Derby with them in May and this has become somewhat of a "Tradition" and we always look forward to it! Blaine makes wonderful Mint Juleps and we always bet on the horses. The girl's all wear hats that we make ourselves! We just have a great time!
While we were in Beaufort we went on a bike ride and a carriage ride. The carriage ride took us on on a tour of the old historic homes. Eden loved the horses pulling the carriage. There names were Jake and Prince. We visit the Beaufort Museum and saw the Blackbeard exhibit. We also have a wonderful 4th of July dinner at the Spouters Inn overlooking the water. We then watched the fireworks from the lawn at the Beaufort Inn. We had a great 4th!
